Ethan and Noah, having aging grandparents and busy working parents, discovered a gap in affordable services for elderly seniors who are just in need of a little assistance.   Due to their busy schedules, Ethan and Noah’s parents enlisted their two sons to help manage day to day activities for their aging grandparents who live far away.  Ethan would help schedule doctor visits and arrange transportation for all four grandparents.  Noah was responsible for arranging meals to be delivered at specific times throughout the week.  Their parents paid them $5 for each task that was arranged.

One summer, Ethan and Noah expanded their services on a project where their parents tasked them with modernizing their grandparents’ homes by ordering products (Ring security doorbells and smart home technology devices) and arranging service providers to install such devices. Now, their grandparents can control lights and other devices with their voice. This gave peace of mind to Ethan and Noah’s parents.

Through word of mouth, other adult kids reached out asking for similar arrangement services for their own aging parents. Soon, Ethan and Noah became very busy arranging tasks for 12 elderly people on a regular basis.  As more client requests came in, Ethan and Noah enlisted the help of a cousin and family friend.

However, due to capacity constraints, ELDASERVE is limiting the number of clients they are currently serving… and there is a growing waitlist.

→  77% of older adults want to age in their current home.

→ The Asian elderly population is growing and on-demand services / apps are becoming more trusted

→ Kakao Talk and WeChat are becoming household names among Asian elderly people and they are all capable of using these more advanced functions than the phone and texting

→ Senior care that is specialized and catered to Asian elderly people through the use of proven apps does not exist

→ Asian restaurants and doctor’s offices often don’t have signage that is in English; hence, an Asian “Assistant” proves be more helpful.
